Try contacting care4nurses they can recommend appropriate language study materials.

thanks dishes for your kind help

forever24 Were you able to get some suggestions from care4nurses? If so what did they suggest?

The only suggestions I can think of, are to check the Toronto public Library, as they likely have English for Nursing books and if you live in Toronto, you can borrow the ones with CDs to practice listening. Also, I believe Centennial college offers English classes for IENs, so their bookstore should have English for nursing textbook(s).

I called their language coordinator but just the automated machine that keep answering, I even left a message but no reply yet until now. I am from Brampton by the way. What do you mean by English for Nursing books? Thanks

I'm sure you will get a reply from care4nurses at some point. Regarding English for nursing books, go on the Toronto Public Library (TPL) website and search 'English for nurses' you will see material that is available to borrow, such as the book/CD combination "Cambridge English for Nursing" by Virginia Allum. Since you are in Brampton, try a similar search on the Brampton public library website, in addition call your local Brampton library and ask if it is possible to borrow from the TPL through the Brampton library.

Sheridan college in Brampton has English language training programs such as language instruction for newcomers to Canada (LINC) and occupation specific language training (OSLT). Sheridan's website has details about the courses and you can register to attend an information session.

hi dishes, Do you know exactly what is inside that book? Seems appealing to me after scanning some of the pages . Sadly, Brampton library does not have much of nursing books. I think OSLT will gonna help me lot I will try to call them on Monday. I do appreciate and so grateful to have this informations from you. Thanks

I don't know exactly what's in the book, but several TPL branches have a copy, one of the branches must be reasonably near you. If you are curious about the book and want to know more about the content, go to the nearest branch with the book and sit in the library and read it. If you take a laptop with you, you can have a look at the CD as well.

If you want to increase your knowledge of Ontario nursing regulations and improve your listening skills at the same time, try listening to the CNO's webcasts Webcasts - CNO

Is this the website that you initially looked at for resources CELBAN ? I see there are online readiness and offline readiness tests available, both seem like valuable resources.

According to CELBAN you need to be at a level 9 in listening, there are free downloadable documents and examplars of Canadian Lanaguage Benchmarks available on the bookshelf, see CCLB Bookshelf
