Apo?

I'm going through my pharm stuff and see that a lot of Canadian drugs have the prefix Apo- as part of their name. What does that mean? Is it a company name?

I could be wrong, but I think tacking on apo- to a drug name signifies that the generic form is being used.

yep, Apo means The generic form :)

APO before the drug name means the manufacturer of that generic drug is Apotex, Inc.

And does Apotex Inc. only deal in generic drugs?

Yes... they consider themselves to be the leading generic drug manufacturer. The company is based in Canada, and sells to over 115 countries including the US.

OOh yeah, they also work with PACE/APCE in developing programs for Pharmacist education.
