A question on retrogression

Dear Allnurses!

I am totally new to this forum and, as many others, terribly upset by the news of the retrogression. Since my lawyer does not keep me updated (found out about retrogression quite by chance after I had sold the house), could I ask some questions?

My case was filed on October, 17, 2005. Clearly, I am under this retrogression. How long is it supposed to last? At least, according to past experience?

The last motion that was done on my case was my lawyer sending Ds-230 forms to NVC, on Novermber, 10. The file is not in the Israeli embassy yet. What is supposed to happen now, let us say, after and when retrogression is lifted?

Thank you for your patience, I see you are a much more updated source of information than any I have worked with before.

50,000 visas are gone, there are not any of those left currently. But first quesiton is if your PD was October, 2005, why did it take more than one year to get the DS-230 submitted?

The file will go to the US Embassy once it is approved, in Israel. But you will need to wait for visa numbers to be available again for your country of birth...where were you born?

For some unclear reason, the lawyer had to refile, which just took off 7 months.

I am from Ukraine.
