International Nursing

Hello!

I have always had a dream to do travel nursing in Europe for a short period of time. I found this program in England that required one year of work experience before you could start the process to work over there. The only type of nursing I have experience in is high risk labor and delivery. I called today and found out that they only let midwives do labor and delivery over in England and that I would have to have another year of experience on another floor before I could go over there. I was so upset to hear about this news because it has always been a dream of mine to do travel nursing. I know I could wait another year and transfer to another floor, but I want to see all of my options first. Plus, I really like the floor I am on right now. I was wondering if anyone knew of any programs that let Registered Nurses travel to Ireland to work? Anything that anyone could suggest will help! Just trying to find more information on it. I have been searching online, but so far no luck, but I will continue to research.

Thanks for any help! :)

First the registration issues in the UK that you encountered you will also have in Ireland. The systems are very similar, as the health service deliveries are very similar.

Second issue is the 17.5% unemployment at the moment in Ireland.

Third Ireland is part of the EU and the employment criteria is own country Europe then rest of the world
