HI, I have been taking a RN program associate degree in California, and I really love it. After having learned so much, and worked hard, I begin to worry about what is going on with all these new rules. Is there any way I can work in a hospital while in the program? What about when I graduate will I be able to get a sponsor here and also continue my studies in nursing?
Or it depends on how many immigrants have immigrated to U.S from some countries, Why this new law would affect more India, China, and Philipines?
Once again thanks a lot for your help. I love this profession and will continue to work hard no matter what happens, I want to become a nurse, it's my goal, hopefully everything works out, but it's scarry sometimes and stressful.
Take care and enjoy the holidays.

sorry I do not know the answers to your questions. Have you tried talking to the Human Resource Dept of a hospital, a nurse recruiter or even an advisor at your school? Hope you get your information and are able to work where you like. Good luck!

From Brazil you should have no problem. The reason for the change for the nurses from the Philippines, India, and China is because of the number of applicants in the technical fields that apply for the green cards from those areas.
Since you are on a student visa, there is no way that you can legaly work while you are in school, however, make sure that you apply for an OPT before you graduate which will permit you to work for one year after you graduate while your documents are being processed. It is not allowed to apply for the OPT once you have completed your studies.
Good luck and welcome to the profession..................
