That is what we are trying to tell you, it is too bad that you did not know about this site beforehand.

In order to even get a chance at one of the temporary work visas, they require that you hold at least the four year BSN, and you need to have the Visa Screen Certificate in hand as well. But a facility also needs to prove that they are unable to hire an American for the job and that is going to be quite hard for them to prove right now.

Most go for the green card, and this is retrogressed more than two years already with a long wait of more than five years for a chance at one via AOS in most cases.

This is what we are trying to explain to you, there is no way to adjust your visa from the J-2 to one that will permit you to work. There has been a retrogression in place for more than two years and visas are essentially at a standstill now. You are looking are perhaps about five years before things open up since you would be wishing to go thru the Adjustment of Status processing or better known as AOS. The government got forced to accept petitions last summer when there were no visas available and that was close to 800,000. Knowing that there are only 140,000 green cards per year and that this number also includes those that are waiting patiently out of the US for a visa, it is going to be a long wait.
In general we do not have temporary work visas for nurses; most facilities will not use them and there are many restrictions with them as well.
Much has already been written on this topic, would just do a search here and then let me know if you have any more questions.

For those that are not informed it is not last summer anymore but the summer of 2007...not that it makes a lot of difference but it has been more than a year already and don't want people who are not as informed to think it is only a few months ago that all of this occurred.

Thank you, I still consider what happened to be last summer when I am in a hurry. The issue is that one is not going to be able to adjust their visa now to be able to work here.
