I am graduating this year from a BSN-RN nursing program. The problem is that I am an international student, and now few hospitals offer H-1B work visa. I heard that some states (like North Dakota?) hire BSN-RN only for some positions, and that would be where I might be able to get my work visa. I wonder is this info accurate? I will be really grateful if someone can give me some information on that (or anything related)!!
Thanks in advance!

You are not qualified for H1B as a new grad nurse. H1B is a specialist visa requiring experience. As far as an EB3 visa it depends on your country of birth if the wait is 1-12 years for current status and finding an employer willing to wait that long. The perceived need of the employer will not bypass USCIS visa limits, wait times or requirements. There are many US new grads now willing to relocate to ND so the demand for non citizens and IENs may be reduced.
ND repealed the BSN mandate years ago. BSN is no longer minimum entry to practice for ND any more. So your information is no longer accurate. ASN-RN & diploma grads are eligible for employment in ND also.
OK thank you so much for answering!
Hi, everyone! I am an international student living in Texas and I am almost graduating from nursing program. I wonder if any of you heard about hospitals hiring international students? I know that I have one year internship, but I heard hospitals didn't offer job visa or didn't take international students as their formal employees now?
Thanks in advance!! :)
What is your birth country? Philippines is ineligible for EB3 and India has well over a decade wait due to retrogression. In many areas there are a surplus of new & experienced nurses so employers have no incentive to put forth the time (waiting over a decade in some cases) and money to sponsor an immigrant nurse even if educated in the U.S. While OPT is available many facilities won't consider since it takes months to train a new grad and their investment must leave in a year if the company can't sponsor as the intent of a student visa isn't a means of immigration but training plus a year of practice and the expectation the graduate will return to their home country to live and work. It's very difficult right now.
