International College of Health Sciences

Updated:   Published

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and hopefully I'm posting this in the right area. I'm currently an LVN in Ca and looking into a 1 year LVN-RN on-line program based out of Fl. The name of the school is called International College of Health Sciences based out of Boyton Beach, Fl. I was just wondering if anyone here has had some experiences in dealing with this school, currently attending, or could provide any insight into the program. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I'd recommend studying with the RN NCLEX mastery app. The gap tested on mental health, fundamentals, pharmacology and med surg.... For pharm make sure you study desired over have and have at least some knowledge on drug classifications you'll do fine. Good luck to you

Thx I took a mixed gap exam last week and they said I didn't do well on the math part for the calculations, and they gave me another chance to retake the pharm exam part so its gonna be mainly just pharm but I don't know what to expect again LOL.

There was two pharmacology questions..one required a pediatric dosage.... Know how many feet you stand a patient back when doing an eye exam... The rest of the question were basic prioritizing nursing care . It was over 100 questions....

They won't let you see any results afterwards...they verbally tell you..."we'll give you credit for ...xyz"

Honestly...many of my questions were misspelled and used colloquial english like a 7th grader wrote them....I wasn't sure what the hell was going on... I wonder if anyone else test was like this????

Yes same here, I noticed the same thing. I will say that the program itself isn't bad though. There has been a lot of changes due to covid-19, but the instructors have been very helpful as they're dealing with the changes too. I'm actually just finishing up med surg 1 and psych, I want to call the school tomorrow and ask if it's possible to take my capstone along with med surg 2 and maternity/peds for next semester.

Anyone know of a similar structured online lpn to RN school, that doesn't have a cpne components like Excelsior. ICHS doesn't allow students to see their GAP results, and verbally tell you what you passed or not. I'm beyond skeptical about what they claim my results are, as I have several other degrees two psychology and they expect be to believe I failed that component of the exam. When the exam was very easy, and they won't give me credit. Part of me believes it to get more money for additional classes. If job security wasn't a issue or childcare due to the current pandemic, maybe it wouldn't matter to me..but right now it does! I think of a A-BSN, program that cheaper and ACCEPT FASFA...but if there anyone who know of any other ONLINE ADN programs similar to ICHS ..please let me know. I heard of west palm beach but they currently don't have accreditation.

Hi, how did you study for the gap exam?
