Hi nurses!
I just passed my interview with Interim Healthcare (Staffing) and got accepted a position as an Home Care LPN case manager for Humana Health Insurance (Detroit, MI). I'm required to take on at least 10 patients per week on a per visit basis which they pay $45.00 and then I also get paid for calling Humana customer's and try to persuade them to take me on as their "Personal Nurse" as I guide them through the health care system and I do a lot of patient education just to keep them out of the hospitals. Orientation is in two days. Any tips or helpful info welcome!
PS. I've never done a home care CM position before I've only done regular home care visits, doctor's offices, and nursing homes..
Thanks!

I just interviewed for the same position except different staffing. $45/hr flat rate no mileage or training pay. Following for responses.

I don't understand how a company can get away with not paying mileage. Thoughts?

Interim is receiving $90 for these visits, not so generously giving nurses half, and cheating them out of mileage to boot. They are an agency, they can contract with nurses for whatever the nurse is willing to accept.
Right, I know they can pay what the nurse is willing to accept. I'm surprised nurses will accept this.
Nurses accept this for the TITLE of case management. In reality it is not case management.. it is schlepping for the contracting company.
