Interesting Nursing Job - At Sea

A good friend (an RN) of mine has been the medical officer on a Military Sea Lift Command ship for about two years. His state room looks like a pretty decent hotel room and he get to see all sort of places. When they make port he usually gets at least several days, sometimes a week or more of free time in port. He has been to Singapore, Perth, Melborn, Auckland, Tahiti, Fiji, Naples, and in several ports in Great Brittan. He tells me that they are hiring.

When at sea at night you can see all the stars in the sky, especially on the night of a new moon. If you suffer from alergies you'll find most of your alergy symptoms disappear when at sea due to the lack of dust, pollen, dander, and other things. You'll see dolphins riding alongside the ship. One night during Desert Storm when we dumped trash (paper bags with no plastics or chemicals) we saw the waves glowing in the dark from the sealife contained in them.

so interesting; i've never heard of a job like this. i love being at sea, but don't know if i could live at sea full time. thanks for the info though!
