Hi,
Can anyone tell me anything about RN positions at the PNH? I have heard the salary is good, and the benefits great. I currently work at a Sentara Hospital, but am looking at other options without having to move. I want to continue as a hospital nurse (right now I am in cardiac care), and I have heard that the PNH pays well.
Can anyone give me help with this?

Hey,
Haven't worked there in a while, but LOVED it when I did. my husband got orders and we moved outta state. when we got back there were no openings. Check out Spectrum Healthcare website. they are one of the contracts over there. The pay is good and I just really enjoyed working with the military. Usually, you need to have a years experience in the specialty you apply for. I had applied recently for a job in the internal medicine clinic, but the same week I got an acceptance letter to the RN program. I believe all the positions are full time.
anyway,
good luck.

Hi. There are multiple job opening at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. All you need to do is go to their Internet Website (http://www-nmcp.med.navy.mil/) and there's a graphic link to Civilain Career Opportunities on the front page. That will take you to their new career information portal where you can view all job listings and inquire about specific jobs. You can also put in you official governenment application and/or call a career specialist for assistance in completing this.
Hope this helps.

This is the direct link to the civilian job opportunities as a government employee. There's also information on how to start the application process. I think RNs are GS9 and LPNs are GS6 pay grades.
I know that they also use contractors for civilians, too and I remember reading that Spectrum Healthcare was their main content, but I didn't see that on their website when I searched today. It may still be true- I just missed it.
Good luck!
