Hello,I am currently a Hospice nurse, but I am also looking at an additional area of nursing to specialize in as well. I have 1 year of pediatric experience but that was 14 years ago.Would it be realistic for me to pursue school nursing?Do you have advice on what sort of education and training I need?Any advice is greatly appreciated.Thank you!

iggywench, BSN, RN 300 Posts Specializes in Pediatrics, school nursing. Has 12 years experience. Mar 21, 2017 Requirements for a school nursing position vary by state and district. Some states require certification, and others don't. My district (in Texas) does not require certification or a BSN, just two years of community health experience. I was a pediatric triage nurse in private practice before becoming a school nurse, and I was also a teacher in the same district for 7 years before nursing school.
