Inquiry. Help

Hi. I am a Filipino and I would like to process my NCLEX application for new York this month thru NEAC agency (I hope you're familiar with it). I M actually abroad (middle east) and currently working. My questions are the ff:

1. How long does this application take until I can get ATT?

2. Are there any specific requirements that I need to comply (certificates, docs) unrelated to my college docs like TOR, etc for me to apply?

3. Is there anyone who has the same scenario with me? (an expat who processes NCLEX application abroad thru NEAC)

First you don't apply for the NCLEX you apply for a nursing license by examination as an internationally educated nurse. NCLEX is but one step in the process

You need to first submit an application for credentials verification service (CVS) from CGFNS. The process takes about 6 months.

You must complete continuing education classes in infection control and child abuse prevention approved by NYBoN

Once CGFNS compiles your documents you then apply for a nursing license by examination as an internationally educated nurse

There are several threads in the nurse registration forum under the world section discussing the progress.

The full process if you apply on your own takes 8-9 months. The CVS takes approximately 6 months then the board of nursing review to determine if you meet the qualifications and are eligible to take the NCLEX takes an additional 4-8 weeks.

Oh I see. I have a clearer vision now about everything. Guess it's a very long and tough journey in going there. And I must say, quite expensive, too. I can take that course online sir? Do you have any idea how much does that cost? I went thru the website you attached as link and I found it useful. I'm quite confused though to which provider should I enrol myself into

I'm not a sir. Look at the approved providers and see which one meets your reeds. There should be some online providers.

It's not cheap to become a licensed nurse in the U.S. Be wise in your choice of agencies as some charge fees and just add to your out of pocket costs.

Do you have work rights? Are you an experienced nurse with specialty training? It's difficult to obtain visa sponsorship. Agencies can't always help if no visas are available there are no EB3 visas available (or even processing right now) for applicants born overseas due to retrogression. Last month the wait for a visa priority date to become current (once the application is accepted by USCIS) was over a decade. It's predicted to be at a halt through early fall. It's very difficult to secure a work visa right now.

Not if there are no visas being issued like right now for EB3 for those born in the Philippines ( which most nurses fall under. ) Three years of OR experience is a benefit and increases your chances once visas open up again. Which could happen in 9 months by the time you might be licensed v
