INOVA vs MedStar WHC

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone, I recently graduated from nursing school!(ADN)

I have been offered a job at MedStar Washington Hospital Center - Cardiology IMC unit residency (Starts in July). I also have an interview coming up for a position as a Woman's OR nurse at INOVA, also a residency. MedStar offers New grads 28/hour and INOVA offers 26/hour. I feel conflicted regarding what would be the best choice If I am offered the OR position. I live in the Gainesville/Haymarket area. What are your opinions/advice?

Specializes in Case Management/your.

I think that you would like the INOVA Women's OR better. Typically, that OR is Monday-Friday daytime hours (7-3:30 pm). Also, once you are with INOVA for 6 months you can transfer to another facility if u don't like the position for example u could transfer to Fair Oaks.

Thank you Ash! I feel like most of my fellow peers have figured out what specialty they want to pursue, but I have not, which makes decisions such as this one difficult. I appreciate your feed back :)

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Haymarket to WHC is a loooooong ride!
