initial LVN license

hello. i am from California and i took the NCLEX-PN on the 15th of April. got the "Pass" result from the mail on May 6th and sent the payment for the initial license fee yesterday. i would just like to know how long it takes for the hard copy to be sent and for the BVNPT to post it online?? should i wait for the hard copy or is it okay to start looking for a job once i see it online? thanks much! :)

I live in California and know it's a struggle to be so patient after working so hard for your license. I took my test February 5th, found out I passed march 8th, and JUST received my license a little over a week ago. I too was worried after 3 weeks with my check not cashing. But for me i noticed my check cashed around the middle of april and it still took a few weeks after that for me to receive my actual license. I have no convictions,DUI, or even a speeding ticket!! Just try not to worry, it will come :)

Hi everyone! So I just received my results that I passed!! Yay! :) And it asked me mail in my initial license fee. Does this 100% mean that Im getting my license??Or are they still processing my app? Thank you!!

The CA BVNPT will not process your application any further until they cash the check or money order that you'll mail to them. You must pay for the license before you will receive it.

Thank you for responding. Im still waiting to hear back from them. The reason aom asking is because idk if my background check has cleared. I hope they wouldnt take my $150 for the license if I dont clear for some reason.

Within a month I received; the letter that i passed, the letter to pay for my license and my LVN hard license! :) A lot of employers want LVNs with experience. One even told me its a Catch 22. Waiting on a background check and then Ill have my first job as a LVN!!

Same case here. Took my exam on the 18th of July, got my "Congratulations" letter on the 25th, applied same day and my payment was was deducted from my bank on the 28th.. Up to this date, my name is not on breeze and no license. Payment of my student loans starts next month and I haven't even been working as a nurse yet because I have no license! Hope it comes soon... It'll be a month next week. I will give an update when i get mine. Wishing all of us more luck in getting it
