Information on pediatric nursing

Published

Hi I'm new to this website, so I hope I'm posting in the right area

I live in the Uk and I'm thinking of applying to study a nursing degree. I am particularly interested in pediatric nursing, before I apply I want to make sure that this is the right path for me, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice/information on the pediatric branch.

I was also wondering if anyone can recommend any books or magazines that I can read to find out as much information as possible about pediatric nursing.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you :) xxx

Hi - I think (and I may be wrong) but is pediatric nursing different in the UK than the US?

If so, you might find posting in the UK forum more informative.

If not, there will be some peds nurses coming along to help you out.

Hi there, in the UK it's spelt Paediatric not Pediatric (that's the US spelling) :D

have a look at this,

In the UK the first 18 months is a common foundation program after which you focus on your particular area of nursing, this can be Adult, Children, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities.

Here is a little more specific info about Children's nursing
