I work with profoundly disabled children. One of our kids has this disorder. He is severely developmentally delayed. He sleeps sitting up, makes squealing noises when he is pleased, has extremely limited communication (no speech, no direct responses etc), likes to play with basic children's toys (the kind you might give to a toddler), wears glasses and has hearing aids, cannot walk and therefore uses a wheelchair but eats orally very well, though needs to be fed. It's a very interesting disorder, however the manifestations are very similar in presentation to what you see in a lot of other disabling disorders.
