I thought I had seen most things but, this was something new. A new CNA was noted to be wearing white cotton gloves under her disposable vinyl ones at about 9 or 10 in the morning on Friday. When questioned, she stated she needed to wear them due to her exzema. BUT... she had been changing her disposable gloves and saw no problem with it.
How scary, she had not washed her hands since the beginning of her shift at 6:30. Hello??? I know she had not been washing the cotton gloves each time she removed the vinyl ones. She was instructed that she could not use the cotton gloves and needed to wash her hands or use the alcohol gel like everyone else. If specialty gloves were needed, then she needed to see the ADON who does the ordering.
