I know that once the mycobacterium tuberculosis enters the body, the body encases it with collagen. Why are the parameters of a positive tubercle an induration of 10mm ??
can someone explain the patho to me?

Well as a student what has your research into the pathophysiology of TB and Mantoux testing shown you?
Quick google search shows this:
Mantoux test and its interpretation
https://www.cdc.gov/tb/publications/posters/images/mantoux_wallchart.pdf
CDC | TB | Fact Sheets - Tuberculin Skin Testing for TB
http://adc.bmj.com/content/90/6/624.full.pdf

And for your other thread in the same topic:
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1876034112000883
that the body encapsulates it in collagen... But under what parameters make it positive (10mm vs 2mm?), and why?
I was hoping for more information.

Tell us what YOU think first and we will jump right in.
The CDC is your premier resource on this subject.

We were hoping for you to do at least some research. We don't always get what we want, though.
Clearly you didn't bother to look at the resources as asmscience article specifically addressed your pathophysiology query and why the size of induration is not random.
You can lead a student to research but....
