Hi All, I have applied for Fall 2016. Could anyone give an update?

Hey! I've applied for the fall 2016 semester. I submitted my full application on the 28th. They told me they'd email me with a decision within the next 10 business days. Wbu? Have you heard anything?

I am currently in the program. I applied by the deadline Feb 1, 2014 and received an email of acceptance march 3, 2014. It will say who your advisor is, student ID, and your school email. Then you will receive an official letter in the mail. Once you have received those your advisor will call you or email and ask you questions and clear up any concerns you have. The program is part-time. You take 2 classes a semester depending if you have any graduate classes to transfer in. I had a graduate class to transfer in which was patho!!!! It's a beast. I had to send my advisor the syllabus and she made the decision to transfer the class. I am now in my third semester which is the first semester of clinicals, Health promotion and assessment. The class consists of 90 hours of clinicals and with discussion boards and quizzes. The professors in this program do not want you to fail. It's a lot of reading and studying. The first semester with statistic class was tough, but doable. If you can try to take a class in the summer.. I didn't, but wish I would have to graduate early. The break was nice though!!! I go one summer off and now straight thru until I graduate May 2017. Pharm and patho are tough; lots and lots and lots of reading for those 2 classes. It can be done!! I was pregnant when I started and have been successful with a great support system. The last 4 semesters are all clinicals 90 hrs, 180, and the last 2 semesters 225. Start finding your preceptors now I suggest. The time will come before you know it. You are responsible for finding your own preceptor. You do not want to fall behind because you can't find a preceptor. When you find a preceptor do not try to make a contract. It takes tooooo long. Only do the agreement; it will save you time!!!All tests are open book!!! That's great, but they are much harder. No video cameras making you nervous!!! lol. I hope I have shed some light, but if you have any other questions let me know!!! PS. go ahead and purchase your apa book!!!!! You will need it!! I rented all my books except for pharm for highlighting. Don't buy any books except for pharm!!! It will be a waste just rent them!!! Thanks and good luck :o)

I just replied to a post read it!!! It's very informative!!! good luck!!!

Wow, thanks so much! I have another question for you. I am applying to ISU and another school, how long do they give you to accept the offer? My other school's deadline isn't until April 1st.

thanks so much!

I looked at the letter and it didn't state when you had to confirm. So I'm not sure about that. I think I sent an email the next week.

Okie dokie. So, if I am accepted I will do the part-time route. Is that 7 semesters (2.5 years)? It seems as if the final semester includes 3 courses (the preceptorship, FNP Role 2 and EBP)? Can the EBP course be taken prior to the concentration courses?

Also, how is it being out of state and all? I see you're from Florida. I am from Texas. Is all the paperwork and affiliation agreements/contract stuff very time consuming? I'm not sure if my clinical site will require a contract.

And I plan on working full-time (36 hours) at least during the didactic portion of the program? Is that doable?

Though I haven't even gotten a letter yet, this is very helpful to know. Thanks so much!

Yes the program is 2.5 years. You get one semester off. The first four semesters all part time ranging from 5-6 credit hours. Then the last 3 are 8 8 and 9 credit hours. So that considered full time for graduate. What is EBP??? Out of state is no different except the price per credit hour. The last 4 semesters they add $500 to each clinical course. The contracts are not time consuming. She just wants you to send them a certain way. The preceptors fills it out and you scan it to the professor. You can work full time. You just have to find time to read and then do your clinicals. Clinicals are one day a week the first semester then 2-3 days a week there after. It's doable, but just stressful. Health assessment is not too bad. I think in the last 3 semesters it might be difficulty. I have to do 180 clinical hours in 10 weeks in the summer. That's 2 days a week. I like the program. They want you to succeed. You will only fail if you want to. You have to study and do your work..

Hi! I was told they would start to review the applications on 2/1 and decisions/notifications out by 3/15. I sent my packet in Dec and all LORs were received by 1/21. Haven't heard anything emailing to ensure all LORs were received (the status always showed "in progress" for one).

I didn't get an email either, the status of my LORs just stated "complete and submitted." Mine were submitted online. You can probably call admission or the department to get confirmation. Did you get an email stating all required documents received and is now under review from admissions?

no only for acceptance
