I am so hoping I can get something worked out with a babysitter to go to the info session with you two in August! Can't hurt to go twice, just to make sure they get it on record if nothing else.

On a side note, has anyone taken the TEAS yet? I took it yesterday and I have to admit it was not quite as bad as I had envisioned. It sure does cover a lot though, wow!

How did u do on the teas. What kinda quest did they have. Is it like the practice book. What campus r u at.

I thought the TEAS was not as hard as the practice book, so therefore I thought the practice book was a good study tool.

I was happy with my TEAS results. I scored an 87, which would have been good enough for last semester's program in Indy, assuming all A's were received, and that the applicant was in region. That being said, I will probably retake the test. While I am not so sure that I can increase the score, I will at least give it a try.

The test itself covers a wide range of things. Math, Reading, Science and English; All of which cover a variety of areas. I found the Science area the most challenging, as you are tested in 4 different areas of science, (Life, Chemical, Physical and Anatomy) plus scientific reasoning and general science.

Unlike some others, I did find the book useful. I had seen similar questions from the test in the book. Most people however, prefer the online versions of the test to study by. I have not accessed those yet, but hope to before I retake.

Hope I answered your question! Where do you plan to apply?

MistyMiss, let me know if you are able to go to that info session, because I will definitely sit with you!

Indy is having an info session on Aug. 25th at 2pm. I think I will go, just to hear about any new stuff that they've done since the last time I went to an info session last Nov. For example, I know they are now doing some summer classes. I figure it can't hurt to go to the session right before applying so I have all the most current info. If anyone else wants to go, let me know!
I may possibly go to this one with you to hear about the new stuff too Let me know for sure, oh nursing info session buddy!

I am thinking that the online resource that most people use is ATI, http://www.atitesting.com/ , it is the company that designs the book that Ivy Tech sells and the test itself. When you purchase the book you gain access to the site for a couple of practice tests I believe, but I am pretty sure you could just purchase site access for sample tests if you wanted to.

Good luck with your application in Gary! Which program are you applying for? Personally, I am hoping to get into the ASN program in Indy. I currently work in accounting, so this is quite the switch for me

Yep! You can purchase the 2 practice tests for $30 on the website. It kinda helped to get the feel of how the test was set up. I got an 85 on my first try with no studying. So...I am going to retake it again, but I am not applying until next year for the Fall '10 start. So, for now, I will spy on you guys and live vicariously through you!

LOL Kara, yep we can be buddies at another info session! I currently am definitely planning on going to that one. I just won't fill out their little form since I already filled it out twice, they will think I'm nuts for going to a third session LOL.

MistyMiss, I'm gonna PM you. . . I too am changing careers in a major way.

Does anyone know what the point range for the Indianapolis campus is? How is evevyone doing on their TEAS exam? It's my biggest problem.

I wish there was a way to know the point range! Unfortunately, we will probably never know what the exact range was, even after the selections are made.
