Inconsiderate co workers

Published

i have a major pet peeve about people who are constantly late. there are a few rn's on the floor who have no idea how inconsiderate they are. they are always late. day after day. everyone dreads when this group follows you because you will be late going home because of them.

i come to work on time and am usually early. i leave early so if there is traffic i will be there on time and ready at 7p to take report. we even have nurses who come from canada who can be on time and this group can't even make it in on time.

i cannot tolerate those that bicker about the assignment after being late and procastinating about taking report so that their tired co workers can go home. seriously just take report and bicker with charge after i go home.

sorry had to get that out of my system. i just cannot tolerate people who are late daily and then when you are there early they want you to take report. heck no! if you can't be on time, then i will not relieve you not even 1 minute before 7p.

phew i feel better now.

My unit does taped report in clusters of 4-6 nurses. The tape starts promptly at 7 (or 3 or 11...) and attendance is taken. If you're late, everyone knows, and you have to wait until the end of the tape to rewind and listen to what you missed.

Can you tape report? I despise tardiness...one of my biggest of all pet peeves. Lucky for me I work with a really good group that is 99% of the time always on time. We also have a strict attendence policy and we dock 15 min of pay for clocking in 1 min late. We can clock in between 6:38 and 6:45..if you clock in at 6:46 your docked.

No we can't tape report. I did tell the charge for days and the oncoming RN that one of them will take report so I can go home or I will write out report and when they are done with their pi$$ing match one of them can care for the poor pt.

We don't have a time clock to clock in on. We don't have Kronos like they did at the previous hospital I worked at. At one hospital I worked at we clocked in via phone. So I don't know how it is recorded other than when it is written on the charge sheet. And sometimes you are charge and getting report and you don't always see everyone come it.

I just think being late is so inconsiderate. I mean I understand you are late if you came from another unit, were in traffic once in a while, but daily is just freaking irritating.

:wink2: good girl. venting is so important.....it is a must for a mental health, and beside this world is not perfect...we do need to vent out these negative feelings....'cause , i tell you , no one is worth getting sick from these aggravations.
