In Tenn., nursing market tighter but expected to expand
Registered nurses looking for work in the Chattanooga, Tenn., area might have to look longer thanthey used to because of fewer retirements among nurses in the recession and thehigh number of nursing schools in the area. But job availability has narrowedonly slightly, and the federal health care law could reverse that trend soon."Nursing is still one of the most trusted and respected careers out there... and coming changes will offer a prime opportunity for nurses at alllevels," says Lynn Whisman, Erlanger Health System's chief operatingofficer and chief nursing officer.
