Hello, my name is LaTeisha and I am completing my final two classes at WGU in their MSN-nurse informatics program. My classes have been on hold for two terms now due to my not having a preceptor. I am an RN in New York and the preceptor should be a master-prepared registered nurse who is registered in the state of New York. All of the preceptorship duties are done remotely, there are no required number of practicum hours and the student does not need to present to the assigned site unless the student and preceptor agree upon their meeting. The preceptorship is guided as a resource for the student to fall back upon if there are questions about the project the student needs to complete. Said project does not have to be implemented, it is a mock project
Preceptors do not have to be informatics nurses, they need to have worked in the EMR for the past 2 years and be MSNs. Please help me. Thank you so much.

Any luck? I'm also looking for a preceptor but for my MSN-ED.
No, no luck at all.

Get out now. get into a better program. Write about your disappointments and troubles with this program. We as RNs and other health professionals needed your skills and guidance as a MSN at least one term ago.
I preceptored 1 (ONE) student for an MSN-ED. Her preceptor told me not to figure into her evaluation her being only one day on time, a reticence to do the teaching at hand, ignorance on the skills lab skills despite given a CD that showed the skills and requirements (and appointments for in person learning)
After getting hit by a surprise mid-term evaluation I asked for the final evaluation criteria for her future performance so that I could document accurately. I was told I was not helpful, (she found another Walnut graduate) who tolerated her lack of timeliness etc. If I could have jettisoned her the first day (of course she was late and brought a child with her) I would have. Our college banned Walnut student teaching after her.
