I think it is very normal to feel 'burnt out' after nursing school! After all it is a long-hard grueling time in our lives.
Don't be too hard on yourself, study for short increments of time. Maybe only do 30 minute study sessions and give yourself a couple hours of break and then put in another small session.
As long as your doing little bits everyday your still learning and one step closer to passing that test!!!
Good luck and Best wishes

The money was a HUGE motivator for me... when I added up how much I can be making as a nurse ($300 A DAY), it dawned on me... passing NCLEX is good...
Good luck finding whatever motivates you! Hopefully someone here will point out something that makes it click for you.
Unfortunately, it is perhaps the negative effect of NOT passing that motivates me just as much... ($12000 to wait three months to retake and NOT be allowed to work as an RN anymore)... this one probably creates more anxiety, of course. :-(

It has been 15 yrs. I was one of the first to test on the computer. I only studied my classroom notes, and passed with minimum questions, and I'm just average. So, don't freak out !! A classmate had to answer all the questions, like 300 ? And, also passed !! You shouldn't need tons of study time, your knowledge from your schooling will give you the answers. Good luck !!!

Give yourself permission to take a three day "vacation". Relax, unwind, enjoy yourself. When the three days are up, get down to business.

I feel he exact same way!! I do some questions here and there but I have not been really able to focus! I think that once i get my ATT and know my exact date, it will help me buckle down and study. I think it is just the summer and I am naturally just lazy haha. Good luck to you!!

Last year I bought a bunch of NCLEX RN review books but only opened one. I had scheduled my test and had about 8 weeks to complete my studying. It was the Saunders book. I noticed in the book they referenced the online study program. I decided it was my best bet since it would make studying more interesting and help me to stay focused.
I took the online Saunders review coorifice and when I finished, I felt there was no way I could fail. It taught me some things we didn't learn in nursing class and more importantly, taught me how to answer questions when you have no idea what the answer is. There are a lot of meds on the NCLEX test and this course gave a thorough review. I wrote note cards during this part so I could use to study the meds in the days right before the test. It really paid off.
I passed with 75 questions last spring

You have to find out what motivates you. For me it wasn't really the money for the most part it was my husband and daughter that motivated me because I know that after I became a RN our lives would definitely change for the better. I only found one person to study with and many times she wasn't available so I was focused doing 100- 300 questions a day. I study for 6 weeks straight using kaplan, saunders, learning extension and Sylvia Rayfield. I took my NCLEX yesterday and I feel like I did well. I only had 75 questions and I did the Pearson vue trick and according to it I passed. I get my unofficial results tomorrow so I'm pretty excited.
