I just interviewed for my dream job on the NICU, I'm not going to hear from the hospital for about a week, and I have a 2 and 5 chance of getting the position. I have an interview tomorrow at a different hospital for the CVICU, if they offer me the position before the NICU offer should I take it or wait to hear from the other hospital first? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Make sure to send off a thank-you letter ASAP to the person you interviewed with for the NICU position.
If you are offered the CVICU position, its perfectly ok to let them know that you'd like to take a day or two to think about it. Even better, tell them taht you'd like to do a 4-hr job shadow before you make your decision (which will buy you more time).

i couldn't agree more. i just interviewed with postpartum and another hospital. i really wanted the pp job so when i went to the other interview i asked to have a few days to think about it. they offered for me to shadow. before i got home the pp nurse manager called to offer the job. she said my thank you was the first one she had recieved ever and it made a huge impression on her.
anyway, the moral of the story is... that it never hurts to ask. what are they gonna say? no?... well ok then it may not be the job for you and you can cont to look elsewhere. good luck!

Nothing wrong with askign for a few days to think it over. I also got my first interview for my dream job, coinceidentally on NICU. I got a phone call today ( I hope it was a job offer), but wasn't home so I left a message. I was going to send a "Thank You" note, but as my interview was on Friday and today is Monday didn't have time.
I hope you get the one your hoping for By yourself some time if its feasible. Also, if you don't hear back by the end of the week you can always call and ask for an "update" on your application status.
