  1. Hi! I'm taking NRP next week...I didn't finish reading the book yet, but I was just wondering if the questions on the written test are like the ones in the review at the end of each chapter? Can anyone tell me how many questions there are on the test? Any information would help! Thanks!:nuke:
  2. I start at the beginning of Oct. I have a 16 week preceptorship and than I will be working nights, I'm not sure about the classroom orientation yet I still need to get more information about that. I hope the nurse/baby ratio is better now too! When I went for my interview everyone was so nice and I loved the unit. Thanks so much for the information!:)
  3. Hi! I'm a new grad and I was just hired at Broward General Medical Center for the NICU. I'm so excited...I have such a passion for working in the NICU...I can't wait to start! Do you think you could give me any helpful information about starting their? Did you like the hospital/unit? Thanks:nuke:

Hi! I'm a new grad and I have just been hired for a position on the NICU. I'm so excited, its where I have always wanted to work...my :heartbeat "Dream Job" :heartbeat. I was just wondering if you could give me a few pointers about starting on the NICU as a new grad? You seem to have alot of experience and I would appreciate anything that would help. Thanks
  5. Hi! I graduated from the AO program in May 2008. First of all, don't worry about the test you take at orientation...its easy and it doesn't mean a thing! I promise! If it's the same way I had it, you will have Health assessment and Lab, patho. I, pharm. I, and Medical calculations your first semester. You'll be fine...Patho. and Pharm. was the toughest class for everyone, and the lady who we had, Dr. Hacker no longer works at Barry. I heard the new professor was much easier. Good Luck! It goes by really FAST!!! Make sure to have fun and celebrate alot with your class...its the only way to forget about all the stress. P.S. Dr. Neely-Smith is awsome!
  6. I just interviewed for my dream job on the NICU, I'm not going to hear from the hospital for about a week, and I have a 2 and 5 chance of getting the position. I have an interview tomorrow at a different hospital for the CVICU, if they offer me the position before the NICU offer should I take it or wait to hear from the other hospital first? Does anyone have any suggestions?
