First and foremost, I would love to thank everyone who offered me words of encouragement when I had the "interview blues." Now I am on cloud 109! I just got the call today from Wake Forest's program with the good news. Yes!!!
Now, is there anyone else out there who I will be meeting soon? Roll call for Wake's class of 2007! Speak up, rejoice! The wait is over (phew).
Next question for the active CRNA or SRNA: When is the appropriate time to seek a sponsor? Is there a way of obtaining a list of anesthesia groups in a particular city that you are interested in? (In particular, between Charlotte, NC and Winston-Salem/Greensboro, NC or their surrounding areas.) Do you contact the hospitals in the area? Should I seek a rotation at their facility, my program allows for this the second year. I know that I am allowed $18,500/year in graduate school loans. Do I qualify for other types of loans?
Always think one or two steps ahead... Also, which PDA OS is preferred? Pocket PC or Palm OS? Is there a program that is most useful to the SRNA? Thanks again for all your help.

Very happy for. yes there is more money to borrow, it's called alternative loans. The amount varies, based on your needs, it's usually at a slightly higher interest rate. I to am in a 2007 class. I have been doing alot of searching for the right sponsor (group or hosp)... it's difficult. However, I am leearning as I go. I have two solid offers but I think I can doo better. especially with hospitals that have never sponsored before. You just have to sell the idea to them. Start now, sending emails and making phone calls... be forward.

I am so happy for you, Wish they called me though. I thought they would be sending letters out? All bad news here just received a letter from Raleigh, I have been placed on the alternate list there. I guess if Wake Forest is calling people I did not get in there also. Well a few more interviews next month wish me luck.

Thanks again, skipaway and BigDave! Dave, I am kind of disappointed that I will not get to meet you at UNCC! I have a feeling that you will be an inspiration to your classmates as well as a stauch supporter! (Is that proper grammar?)
Good luck NYCBoy! Don't give up. I have met many people who got in a second time around! If you don't get in this year, which I sincerely hope you do, just save and save for the next round.
Mats_Pats 2: Did you just call the hospitals? How did you know who to call? Did the school provide you with a list of some sorts? Are you going to MTSA? Thanks for the info!
Still haven't heard from my future classmates. Maybe I am the only one verbal on this forum? PM me if you are shy! I'd love to begin networking! (no pun intended:) )
Yes, I just started looking up hospitals and anesthesia groups online and called, asking to speak with HR person or the admin asst. for the group. it's been difficult and time consuming. Plus, most say no thanks we don't do that.
Yes, I am going to go to MTSA this summer.
damn patriots:crying2:
Yeah, I was kinda looking forward to starting class with you as well. I guess we'll just be down the road. Maybe I'll see ya at the NC ANA meeting next year!
Isn't it such a relief now...the calm before the storm as the threads in this forum may suggest??

One word from a girl 6 months into a front loaded program...RELAX. Enjoy your loved ones and prepare them for what is to come. Enjoy whatever it is that you like to do in your spare time to the fullest. Have fun and get outdoors. These will be things you miss when your studying your behind off. Find something that motivates you to do well in the program to get you through the hard days. It makes a difference.
Merry Christmas vaRN!
That first semester is a bear over there...glad you survived!

Hello! and Cheers to you!
What an amazing accomplishment! When I saw your message after your interview, I knew you had been accepted. Lately, for some reason, everyone who has felt bad after their interview has been accepted. I know you will have a great experience at Wake and I hope to meet you at some of the AANA meetings.
I am so excited about starting school in August. I continue to pinch myself!
Oh, and happy holidays!
