This will be my second time taking the NCLEX and I'm not doing well on Kaplan's question trainers or question bank.My average is about a 55%.
I take it in two weeks and Im terrified. I dont want to have to take it a third time.
hi. took kaplan too, i was having the same average as yours. and like what you are feeling i was terrified too. but i'ma say that what's impt is that you understand the rationale behind the questions that you've answered wrong. just go over them. and i'm telling you, you'll do good. just relax, put in the past that you failed the first time bc that may hinder you from really concentrating on your goal this time, which is to pass! so just relax and have faith in God, you'll get thru this pretty good! God bless!
Just want to let you know that the decision tree did not work for me. It made sense in class, but I am convinced that the class questions were different than Qbank, and the decision tree did not seem to apply. I was only getting about 60% but than I seemed to do better when I stopped using their strategies. Did you use Kaplan the first time? I personally felt a little overprepared by Kaplan - not that that's a bad thing. They were by far the most difficult questions out of any source that I encountered during NCLEX study. Do you think it is the level of difficult of the question, or content that you're having trouble with? Good luck to you!
I feel like these are BS questions to be honest. I'm answering what I really think is right. And sometimes, I think all of them are right and I cant pick the right one.
Im getting really frustrated with this.
I had one test where I barely looked at the questions and got a 62%
I didnt use Kaplan before. Ive done some reviews, not a TON of content. Im trying to practice questions and my NCLEX is in two weeks. Im tempted to push it back... again
At one point I stopped selecting the answer that I thought was safe/correct/true/real world and started selecting what I thought was Kaplan/NCLEX. I did every question trainer and every qbank, so I eventually did enough that I just started being able to read kaplan's mind, even if I did not agree. Unfortunately I can't tell you how this approach worked in real NCLEX, because it's a blur lol!
That depends on your curriculum. I never would have know that from nursing school. I knew that, based on info gathered outside of nursing school. I bet you have to watch a lot of CSI for that lol. I do see where you are coming from.
Yeah now that I think of all those Dexter episodes I've watched. I remember brown paper bags. Its just ridiculous to me. How does that make you safe? An inservice about evidence collection...
If you think you're not ready, make up your mind to reschedule the test before it 's too late. $200 is a lot of money! Try go back to your content and understand every aspect of your disease process and practice question if you have the confident after understanding your content. Make sure you test in a mock mode to keep track of your score which i think you already did. Don't follow the crowd, adopt what you think will make you pass. Good Luck!
