I'm 56 want to be be a nurse, anyone else out there?

I have just graduated with a Health & Social Care Management degree, but realise, maybe too late, that nursing is my dream. It may just be a pipe dream. I have applied to UCAS today, but really would like to know if there are any others around my age, training...or planning to train.

Hi Byatt

If this is what you really want to do, I say go for it! Even if it doesn't work out, you will know you gave it a shot! :D

There's nothing worse than living with regrets!

My only consideration would be finding az job after qualifing. NHS tends to stick to state retirment ages but private nursining homes don't so maybe more work in the private sector.

Do what you want to do. Who cares how old you are? If you are reasonably financially secure, perhaps you need not be overly concerned about employment once you finish school. You're going to be around anyway, so might as well do what pleases you, especially at this age.
