I'm researching Nursing as a career. I want to know, in detail, what a day in the life of a Nurse is like. Please respond to this thread, the more responses that I get will give me a sense of the variety of duties that may comprise a full day.
Also, what do you like most about your job? And what would you change about your job?
I really appreciate any input you can give.
Thanks!!!:)

When I was thinking of a career change to nursing I came here (a lot) and also volunteered at a hospital. I learned a lot and eventually knew I was making the right decision.

If I were you I would volunteer somewhere where there are nurses; hospitals, clinics, schools, nursing homes. Nursing is everywhere! You can also see if these organizations will allow you to just shadow a nurse for a day or two and see if you really like what you see. It might give you more insight. Also, speak with local schools in your area to see what they require of their nursing students and how each of the programs are set up. Hope this helps, good luck in your search!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a nurse at first, so I became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Nursing is wonderful if you love what you do, but there is an extreme amount of responsibility that also comes with it, along with long hours and STRESS...but it's worth it in the end if you love your job.
