I'm not tech savvy...help me minimize the pain of books/backpack weight! :)

My recommendation would be to keep your current phone and go with a Netbook. It's a laptop, but smaller.

Using a smartphone to read mounds of information will get old quick.

Good luck

I don't know that downloading books to something as small as a phone is a great idea.

My mom has a Kindle (Amazon's ebook reader) and the screen is way bigger than any phone. It's nice to use to read books for fun, but I was browsing through a trial of a biology book and wasn't impressed. You couldn't zoom in on any of the pictures, and it was difficult to navigate between chapters. It would have been much, much easierand more clear if I was reading the actual book. If an ebook reader doesn't impress me, I'm not thinking that a book on Blackberry/iPhone/etc would work well.

That said, I think using apps on an iPod touch would be smart. Or, if you're just trying to use your time on the train well, maybe you can buy a cheap MP3 player, record lectures, and listen to them while commuting.

Amazon.com has cheap used stuff, and Half.com also has cheap used stuff, though I'm not sure if they have electronics.

Oh, I thought the iTouch was a phone? Wow you guys, I'm in my mid-20s and just have no idea about the technological advances in society.

Ugh...thinking of it gives me a slight headache. I guess I'm a pen and paper girl..but now that I am in nursing school..those pens and paper are killing my back lol.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
