It's been seven years since I've done this. When my mom did it about 22 years ago, she called 16 year old me crying after testing and asked "Are you still going to be proud of me if I fail?? About 15 years later I called her crying asking a similar question after taking the NCLEX. I think we all think we failed at first. I hope you didn't! Best wishes! ❤️

I thought if you got shut off at 75 it means you passed, but then I remembered it could also mean that you answered so many questions incorrectly to the point where there's barely any chance of passing. I've been feeling very sick ever since I walked out of the test center. I don't know what I'm gonna do if I failed the NCLEX, I've studied so hard for this.
I've been checking my Texas Nursing Portal and a few minutes ago my application status was updated from "Processing" to "Approved-Retest", is that an indication of failure or is it the same for everyone?
Hi, I am facing the same challenge, what was the outcome of your situation

Take comfort in the knowledge that about 85% of US-educated, first-time test takers pass... do you really think you're in the bottom 15%?
And... unless you either (a) have HUGE knowledge deficits or (b) suffer from debilitating test anxiety... or some combo of the two... it's nearly unimaginable that you would fail in 75 questions.
Pioneer_MD,
It's OK and it's OK to not be OK. If you didn't pass it doesn't mean you are going to be any less of a nurse. There are many reasons people don't pass the NCLEX on the first time and not being a good nurse is rarely one of them. I have known many top students who went on to be great nurses who didn't pass their first time.
Best luck
