I'm in the same situation as you. I thought it would be easier to get my RN after becoming an LVN since less people apply for the bridge program but I was wrong. The bridge program in CA takes student on "space available" basis which means that my chances of getting in are slim to none. It could take years.
Now i'm stuck with my lvn, a student loan, and no ones hiring.. but atleast im not alone
I just started looking into "future" things today for when i finish the lvn program. I didn't know these were the circumstances after getting your lvn...I talked to west coast university today and they didn't say anything about a waitlist....it is alot of money! I also herd that the lvn through a vocational school like acc is not transferable to a state school. I'm starting to have second thoughts about this desicion!!!! i don't want to be stuck as an lvn forever! hmm

So i just passed my NCLEX and now I'm officially and LVN. I want to continue my education to hopefully some day become a CRNA. As of right now..i still owe money for my LVN program. So my question is: do you think its worth going to westcoast university (orange county) and add another loan on top of the one i already owe. The benefit of going to westcoast is that I'll be an RN in a year and a half, but the downfall to that is that westcoast is approx. 60k. I was thinking bout going back to a community college but I feel like it will take quite awhile and they're making me do the assessment tests again since i havent been to a community college for almost 3 yrs already. so i would like your opinion on this to help me further make my decision. thank you in advance.
