I'm looking to buy books for NCTC LVN program

Published

Hi,

Im beginning NCTC's LVN program this fall. I just got my book list and there are a ton of books! I am looking for someone who has been through the program to see if they would be willing to sell their books to me. I am looking to buy EVERY book on the list, so if youre looking to get rid of yours please reply!

Since you have the list of books and have plenty of time before school starts in fall - check ebay, amazon & half.com for used books. I would start off looking for the actual textbooks first, study guides and then the reference books.

If an "NCLEX LVN" study guide is not listed - I would consider purchasing one. If I was having a hard time studying and getting the info out of the textbook I would use it to study. The info is presented in an easy way to read & learn. In both programs I used the Sanders NCLEX review books more than my textbooks.

From my own experience going thru the LVN and the LVN-RN program at Grayson, we didnt "need" 1/2 of the books listed.

I'm in the LVN program now and you will need all the books. I'm in the online hybride course and they require reading from every book in the box. You can only buy them as a kit and its cheaper this way. Trust me I did the research. Good Luck. (PS the med surg teacher uses every single book in both books for her test)

Thanks! I started looking on amazon and ebay for the books but I can't find a lot of them used. I saw in my paperwork that I can buy a lot of the books for certain courses in "kits" or "packages" for reduced rates at the bookstore. I guess that's what I will do so I can make sure that I have the right editions, etc. I was just looking to save some money if at all possible. I feel good knowing that I will use all of the books listed. Thanks again
