There are 75 min. questions and a maximum of 265. You have 6 hours to test with 2 mandatory breaks. At our Hurst Review they told us that if you take all 6 hours and run out of time, they only grade the last 60 questions. If you finish before 6 hours then you are graded based upon more right than wrong answers overall. The test booklet for NCLEX states that the computer will shut off when a decision has been made within 95% accuracy. Then it is graded by a person. That is why the "unofficial" grades are posted. Your State will receive your official grade as will you in the mail. Hope this helps. If you need more answers visit: www.ncsbn.org and follow instructions for NCLEX candidates. Just a note that the breaks are NOT mandatory, you dont have to take them, and you can actually take breaks anytime during the test, you just have to raise your hand
