Relax! Be yourself. I would just let them know how much I desire to work in the ER...that you are willing & eager to learn. You are ACLS certified,& have 15 months Tele experience....heck you are already on nights! ER is totally different from the floor...... will feel like a new nurse all over again....or I did! Just be sure you get proper orientation time... It will make the transition so much eaiser. Good Luck!:wink2:
BTW... I don't think they will test you. If they do just be honest & admit what you don't know....we all have to learn!
the interview went well, they didnt ask me on drugs or telemetry. it was very basic (i.e. why are you interested in ED, what are your strengths/weaknesses, and so on.. they asked 4 basic scenario questions, very, very general i might add). i was nervous, started getting the clammy palms midway and i stuttered a couple of times, but i believe i made a good impression..
and so i just got a call today getting offered a position in the ED, and of course i accepted. they said i should start in two weeks or so. i cant wait, im excited!!! and thank you guys for the replies!

I got a call earlier this morning from the supervisor of the ED at my hospital and I got an interview set up for tomorrow... I was wondering how the interview process would go. I know that each hospital, nonetheless each supervisor interviews candidates differently, but I would like to know how your interviews went, and what questions they would ask you.
I'm getting pretty nervous just thinking about it. I've been a nurse for a good 15 months on an observation/telemetry floor, and I'm ACLS certified, and I've been working nights (which is the shift theyre looking to fill) so I'm thinking I may have a chance getting hired, but the thing is that the unit I'm working on is considered "less" acute since its an outpatient/observation unit. and with that taken into consideration the supervisor may think I'm less skilled than other nurses on other units, and might even try to test me with ACLS. And I'm still not too sharp with telemetry!
I'm going to be reviewing a lot tonight! Can anyone please give me tips/hints/links to websites for info regarding ED or whatever that could help me with my interview tomorrow, I've always wanted to do ED, and I really dont wanna blow it.
