Im an fnp, is it worth to get a mba?

Published

Hello everyone,

Im curious if any Nurse Practitioner here has a mba? Has ur mba helped you to climb up the ladder. Is it really worth it to have? Are there job opportunities for someone with a combo of mba and np certification? Whats the compensation like. Im from the east coast and u can make up to 120k or more as a np depending on skills and experience, would an mba allow me to make more. Also considering that i have 2 kids, would a fnp mba job allow me job flexibility? I appreciate any insights? I dont want to take loans for an mba to realize that there are no job opportunities for me. Thanks in advance.

I was in an MSN/MBA combo degree program but ended up dropping the MBA. I truly regret it. Health care is a business and we as APRNs need to know the business side of healthcare

The question is, what are you trying to do with your MBA?

What about Executive Leadership Doctor of Nursing Practice (ELDNP) programs? Comparable to an business degree or not? More markable as a nurse or not?
