Im a bit confused, help?!

Hi I'm a freshman at clc, college of lake county in Illinois. My career goal is to be a DNP in pediatrics. I am confused in what school I should transfer to, some of my top choices are Lewis University, Rush, St. Xavier, & Dominican.

With Lewis they offer a DNP degree, so I could basically do my whole education there, but I like Dominican and St. Xavier for how tiny they are and close to home; Rush is nice too but I don't believe they offer a Bachelors in Nursing.

If you are enrolled or were enrolled in these programs please let me know your opinions!!!!

Thank you:)

Hi there,

My name is Bill. I am a senior in the nursing program at Lewis. Now of course I am extremely biased, but I love it at Lewis! The class sizes are small, which seems to be a perfect fit for you. Our clinicals never exceed 8 students whereas most other universities are at 10. My lecture classes are around 20. The professors and instructors all have at least their MSN some even have their DNP. They all have prepared me more than I could have ever imagined. The program is one of the best in the state in my opinion. I transferred to Lewis after my freshman year and I truly believe it was the best decision I ever made. I must add one more point. The national pass rate for NCLEX (the scary exam I am not looking forward to) is around 80%. Lewis is at 94%. If you have any questions please let me know! I'm not familiar with the other programs you are interested in, but I have heard all good things about them! Good luck to you!

There is a lot to be said for getting some decent amount of nursing experience before returning to grad school, and there is also a lot to be said for going to a different school for graduate degrees than you attended for your undergraduate degree.
