I'm in Anatomy and Physiology I for the summer semester, and I HATE IT!!!
I have a 4.0 GPA, and this class is going to ruin that. First off, my teacher is horrible!!! He is so discouraging. On the first day of class he said that he would see most of us back in the fall. His lectures are horrible! Nothing he puts on the test is in the book or what he has lectured on!!! I've studied probably 20-30 hours weekly for the last couple of weeks, and on my first test I made an 82!!! The class average was 72!!! Most people have already dropped. Out of a starting class of about 50 there are about 30 people now.
When we took our lab practical, he told us "Don't be surprised if the grade you get back is a 56, because that's what most people make." And he indeed made it incredibly hard!!!
We took our second test yesterday and he said, "most people do worst on this test than they did on the first one, so you guys need to think about dropping..."
I don't know what to do!!! I'm trying hard to maintain my 4.0 but there is really no way now, unless I make all 100's on everything from here on out, which seems impossible since this man almost prides himself on being a hard teacher!!!
I hate to whine, but this is completly discouraging. I've figured it up that I can make a B in this class, but I'll have to work very hard for it. I've never worked hard for a B!!!
What do I do???????????

I agree. I always hear of students complaining of how hard a particular teacher is. And the truth is.... there are easy and hard prof., but most of the time the student is at fault. They become discouraged by things the prof. say, and assume he wants everyone to fail. The truth is... if he was that bad and intentionally did not cover or indicate what material to review for a test, he would not be there. He would then have a nearly zero pass rate and the school would go all over him to determine why everybody is failing his class. Yes a 4.0 GPA is great, but it doesn't really mean anything if you never have taken challenging courses of prof. that put your ability to the test.Good luck in your studies and just beilieve you will get through it.
In most cases I agree that this is true. Back when I took Molecular BIO I had what I still call to this day " the professor from hell". Out of 50 students to begin with we ended with 8. I was the only A and trust me I BLED for that A. I *loathed* her. However, looking back on it I am actually glad I had her- she MADE me study like I have never studied before. Not just the book but powerpoints, websites, multiple practice tests, you NAME it. My head was spinning the entire semester.I felt physically ILL at the end of the semester( her rating on ratemyprofessor.com is in the TANK)...and yet..I came to appreciate her and actually went to her and thanked her ( no not for the endless nights of stress, upset stomach, or all out wanting to run screaming from the campus LOL)..but because if not for *her* there is NO way I would have been prepared for A+PI and all that came with it. I found A+PI a walk in the park after this lady.
My point is that yes, there are are bad professors, but you need to reach deep down inside and come to a decision as to if A) you need to drop because you have given your 120% ...meaning you have spoken to him and tried the best you can give or B) find the way to pass his/her course.
I wish you the ULTIMATE best of luck.
Seems like you've got a case of an instructor who is putting fear in you to test your strength. I have come across many like that in my school. They will flat out tell you that only the strongest will survive, so little by little people get discouraged and drop the class.Anyhow, play his game. Take him up for the challenge. Most will admire you for that and you will have proven to not being intimidated and will pay off.

Yep...took the words right out of my mouth. Had instructors like that in Anatomy Lecture and in Physiology. Stuck it out though and passed. Try to see it through! Good luck.
