Illinois RN Licensure-Once I finish the NCLEX-RN Exam, when can I work?

Published

Hello,

I take the NCLEX-RN exam June 20th in Illinois and I have a job lined up at a Illinois Hospital upon me passing the exam...I just need to tell them when I can begin working. My question is: After I take the NCLEX-RN exam on June 20th, does anyone know the earliest possible day I can start to practice as a nurse in Illinois? Could I begin to work on June 24th? Input is appreciated and thank you for your time!

I think that is a question to ask your new employer. Good luck, I take mine in June also, but I am going to wait til I have the paper license in hand, just to relax a bit before going to work.

i take mine the same day!!!

im not 100% sure, but i think we have to wait for some kind of pass letter thing before we work, b/c its a liability thing of us not having our license before providing pt care
