Hey everyone! :)

I was just curious if anyone has heard back from Children's Memorial RN Internship Program for the August/October cohort. I applied in April and haven't heard anything back yet. When I call HR, they just say to wait because it might take a while. I might try calling again, it has been a while since I did call.

I'm just kind of anxious because it has been a while since I applied and I haven't heard anything back yet. (Other than a confirmation email saying that they obtained my information and will contact me). A few other nursing students that I graduated with who also applied haven't heard anything either. So I was just curious if anyone else has obtained an interview yet.

I also applied to the program, and after not hearing from them in so long, I assumed that they finished hiring for the positions or selected internals. I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong.

I am not sure about all of the units, but my unit has already interviewed and made offers. I work there as a SNA and was offered a position for the fall. My unit hired 3 internal candidates and 1 external candidate. I feel very fortunate to have been hired because I know how hard it is to find new grad jobs now. I would try calling HR again. They are REALLY slow. Best of luck to you!

Ozzybear, do you know if they will be hiring or conducting interviews for the October start date as well? When I applied the position said August/October. Or do you think the next time jobs will be available again will be next year in March? I'll probably call HR again later this week with more questions.. lol. But congrats on the position!! I assumed a lot of the internal candidates obtained the positions. I was just bummed that I didn't get an interview, I don't know anyone who did! I guess it's really all about who you know.

g3rly, good luck to you! I'm hoping we're both wrong and get calls. haha. But I guess we'll see what happens. I need to focus on my NCLEX before I stress about this.

I applied for the RN internship program at Childrens Memorial. Interview on the 6th I think and was offered a position. I don't know if they are still hiring but I know of another person offered a position too...

Did the other person obtain an interview/position the same time as you or later?

I thought that they were going to send a rejection letter if the positions were filled on the units I applied to. I think I'm going to call HR tomorrow and double check.

They interviewed the same week for me for two different floors. They were called the following week. Also, when we interviewed there we were given the option to start August/October. I chose August (even though I still don't have my ATT!). But we were both interviewed as internal canidates because we participated in their Mentorship program, so for external canidates they might still be interviewing. If I was you I would def call HR!

I actually called HR today. They said that they could possibly still interview some more candidates for the August cohort. And that they will conduct interviews again in September for the October cohort.

I'm still kind of worried, idk where else to look for pediatric rn positions. It doesn't seem like any hospital is looking for pediatric rn's, let alone new grads!

The start date is August 9th for new employees. Internals start the 10th. The start date for October will be on the 11th for new hires and 12th for internals.

As far as the rotation you work 6 weeks days then 6 weeks nights and so on.

I can only speak for my unit but we are completely hired for August & October. I don't think they will hire any more unless someone backs out or someone quits. I know they have been looking for experienced RNs for a awhile.
