Children's Memorial RN Internship Program

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hey everyone! :)

I was just curious if anyone has heard back from Children's Memorial RN Internship Program for the August/October cohort. I applied in April and haven't heard anything back yet. When I call HR, they just say to wait because it might take a while. I might try calling again, it has been a while since I did call.

I'm just kind of anxious because it has been a while since I applied and I haven't heard anything back yet. (Other than a confirmation email saying that they obtained my information and will contact me). A few other nursing students that I graduated with who also applied haven't heard anything either. So I was just curious if anyone else has obtained an interview yet.

Thank you! =)

Does the grad RN internship pay? Or is it a volunteer program?

It is an RN job with pay. It is a new grad program that has classes/training for 1 year.

Hi!

I just got my call for a new grad job at Children's today! The program does pay, but you are considered a RN intern for the first year. After that you become an experienced RN in their standards (aka you get the raise). If you are still in school, I HIGHLY recommend trying to become a CNA or SNA there because I believe almost all of the new grad jobs for August were filled by internal candidates. If you want to do peds, it is a great place to work, and you will learn a lot.

how do you become a CNA at Childrens, everytime I go on their website I only see RN positions

Just keep checking the site everyday. The positions go up fast and go down just as fast.

The CNA jobs are posted under nursing when they are posted.

Thanks, does anyone know what the pay rate is for a internship as a RN. And the pay for a cna. Position at children's?

I had been watching the job postings closely at children's and applied on June 30th when they first went up. Is there a different hiring process for internal applicants? I just graduated from UW-Madison and am curious when you applied if you were called before the jobs were posted. Thanks!

Internal candidates--SNAs (student nurse assistants) get a letter/email informing them when the new grad positions will be posted on the website. I believe it was 3 days before the public could view the positions if I remember correctly. CMH will not hire new grads unless you have CNA/SNA experience. It asks you that online and I believe it will not let you continue if you say that you have no experience. They usually start the hiring process for SNAs in the spring time and hire in June. CNA positions are posted as the floors need to hire. You have to check the site often because the jobs go up and come down very fast. They pull them as soon as they get enough applications or whatever they consider enough.
