Illinois Nurses for Obama???

Published

hello nurses from that prairie state!!! i am big time barack supporter but wanted to know how has he impacted your state through acts he has passed in congress to support nurses??? have you seen changes while he was in senate? what are some of the positive or negative changes you have witnessed or has there really been no clear cut improvement? i noticed he is opposed to manadatory over time except in emergency situations and safe nurse to pt. ratios and the right to organize without fearor hostility from employers. he wants to pass those acts into law upon his presidency. so just wondering how him being your senator has changed your work environment. thanks!!!

Count me in the crowd that Does NOT support Obama in the least bit. I think he is an eloquent speaker that lacks substance. Blah blah blah is all I hear from him. This IL nurse gives her thumbs down to him.

Specializes in Urgent Care NP, Emergency Nursing, Camp Nursing.

And McCain has substance, the guy who's had a different stance on the economy every day for the past two weeks?

I never proclaimed either one of them were ideal...just stating that I am not in favor of Obama. I am certainly not here to argue the fact either.

I too am not for Obama. There has been nothing done for nurses from what I can see, and universal health care will just make it worse. I am not saying that I don't want everyone to have care - but can you imagine what pt ratio's will be when everyone everywhere will have the ability to just come in and get whatever they want? The lines, the stress, and the system will begin to slowly crumble...

WOW what a selfish person you are, we talking here about medical care and saving people life, not anything you want! Just sad i hope that I will never be taken care by you or work with you. All industrialized countries around the world have standardized health care to same extend!

Only in US people are dying becouse of the flu, but hay I don't care, I care only about my salary and pt vs nurse ratio! SHAME ON YOU!

Go Obama, Go!

You are a patient advocate when you encourage proper nurse : patient ratios - its not about the nurse, but about ability to provide safe effective patient care (which is already strained). There's nothing wrong with the other poster having a different opinion than you, and there is no reason to attack their character because of it. You can make your point more effectively without doing that.

"...when everyone everywhere will have the ability to just come in and get whatever they want?"

That how it sounds for me, I have to be political correct in same situations but not here. that is how it is. Getting medical treatment is whatever they want? Who is they: Mexicans, Afro-Americans, poor and uninsured? I am sorry, but I am just tired of people that are nurses for $$$ and then they just discovered that is is a hard and responsible work.

Limiting health access so the other "others" would have better care? What about increasing salaries of nursing instructors, increase number of Nursing programs and by that # of nurses available. If everyone would be insured then it would just increased income of hospitals. But we need some universal basics for it!

Excuse you, its African Americans. Not to mention working in long term care and hospitals I have seen plenty of poor whites. Don't just point out 2 ethnic groups.

This presidential race has brought out so much racism. The way many of you really feel. :argue:

GO OBAMA

Yes of course it should be African Americans, sorry. Excuse you, it should be Caucasians! (A joke ;) ).

I agree with you people are racists that is why I never mention poor whites that I also see a lot. Sandy read my posts again slowly, as well as beginning of discussion. I am on your side, but I am not supporting Obama becouse he is Black. I just think that would be better president form those two options that we have.

P.S. I am ethnic group myself, but somehow you can see the skin color through internet connection

You are a patient advocate when you want all people to be able to receive adequate health care and not to be treated like in a 3rd country!!! I am sick of people dieing from flu, when others are demanding cable TV and internet connection when in hospitals.
