Hi, I have a dual Filipino/US citizenship and a fresh BSN graduate here in the Philippines. Does anyone know if the Illinois state BON will require me to take the Philippines' local board exam first? or can i go straight to taking the NCLEX for my US license since i am a US citizen?

You are a resident of Illinois with a Nursing Degree from the Philippines, decided to take the NCLEX in California but did not have to take the Board Exam in the Philippines?

Were you not able to take the NCLEX in Illinois? I'm just curious because I am currently finishing up my degree here in the Philippines and I'm so lost with the post grad process. I came here thinking that I wouldn't have to take the local board in the Philippines and just go back home to take the NCLEX in Illinois since I am a US citizen. If you don't mind, I'd really appreciate any information on how to go about this after I graduate.

Best thing to do is contact the BON and ask them directly requirements. If you are allowed to sit NLE then you may want to consider sitting it
