If you failed 3 times RN NCLEX in CA

Published

By a new law if you failed 3 times RN NCLEX in CA, you can't take your test again for the next 3 years. It is true? Is it only for CA?

Specializes in ICU.

Hmmm. Never heard of it. I have heard someone's been taking NCLEX 6x already but not once that I heard them about it.

Specializes in Critical care, Anaesthetics.

Yup, also never heard of it. And that's unreasonable..

That would be ridiculous. After spending so many years in a nursing school you would have to wait 3 years? But I heard that from a very smart friend of mine. And now I am worried, because I failed 2 times.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Have you looked on their website or contacted anyone at the BON and ask? Always better to get it from the horses mouth rather than listen to hearsay

I did not call because I am not in CA. But anyway, thank you for your responses! I will tell it to my friend.
