I am new to this site. Pardon if my query is out of place.
I'm a Registered nurse in the Philippines, 2 years experience as nurse in Riyadh (no license), i finished a 6 month Care giving program in the Philippines, I have 1 year critical care nursing diploma from Niagara College, and IELTS of 7
Question, will I be eligible to seat for the RPN exam in Ontario? I'm hesitant to register as Nurse yet because of other testimonials.
Please enlighten me... Still on PGWP
Thank you blackbee. What if CNO granted me to sit for the RPN exam? will there be a validity of the decision? i mean can I take the exam after 6 months or within a year?
If CNO granted you the right to sit the CPNRE, it shouldn't cease to be valid, but it is in your best interests to get the exam done in a timely manner. In addition to passing the exam, there are additional hoops to jump through in order to meet the licensing requirements.

Of course there will certain validity period like what Dishes said. Every year curriculum changes, registration updating, fees increasing, etc. All applications has validity. Even Philippines curriculum in there is updating so there's always a validity put in to the final evaluation. My advice is get your NNAS started because it will take time to furnish all your credentials in the Philippines. Then there's the processing time to review your school documents. Verification of employment. It's not an easy process. It's the month of March and schools in the Philippines are busy preparing graduations, do you think they have time to look after your credentials? No, they will furnish those graduating students first in preparation for their national exams.
I know this because my sister went to University of the East, Manila - Dentistry. When she came back to Korea then eventually move to the states. It was so painful to have her credentials sent down to the states. We even have to fly down there to talk to the Registrar. It's brutal system.
One requirement is residency status in canada. I am a PGWP holder for 1 year, will i be eligibe for licensing? Do you know someone of my case?
The only way that that I am aware of, is if there is a shortage of local qualified Canadian nurses and an employer can justify hiring someone who is on a temporary work permit, they can ask the CNO to issue a temporary license.
It would have been helpful for you to know that you should have submited your NNAS application approximately 8-12 months prior to graduation from the post grad certificate program. It's disappointing that Niagara College isnt transparent about the licensing difficulties that IEN students face.

I do not know the answer for that. Dishes might. But like I said all your questions will be answered if you have NNAS evaluated your papers.
