Australia requires a band score of 7 and minimum of 7 in each area (reading, listening, writing, speaking ).

I don't believe they offer English classes for potential immigrant/visiting non-citizens. There are numerous other resources around the world to improve English skills.

Thank you so much for your comment but can you please tell me the alternative way if i am unable to score 7 in each band.

many thanks ...

Hope to see your response

You find a country with different standards or a different career that only requires a band score of 6?

The minimum is 7 you either meet the score, pay for remediation and retake the test or find another option other than nursing in Australia. The ability to communicate and comprehend a nations language is paramount to safe nursing practice.

That goes for any country. I wouldn't dream of attempting to practice nursing in France or Quebec without fluency in French , Spain or Mexico without fluency in Spanish, Germany without German fluency, Brazil or Portugal without fluency in Portuguese, etcetera

Thanks for your comment. I got your point .But is there any alternatives other than re-giving the IELTS test if i score 6/6.5. I have heard that if we score less than 6.5 then university will accept diploma from TAFE . Thank you so much for your suggestion.

want to hear from you soon.

many thanks

You do not qualify as a nurse per APHRA standards with a score less than 7. I don't know how to state the truth any more clearly. If you desire to work as a nurse in Australia watch English television, enroll in an IELTS review center and retake the exam until you meet the minimum standard. 6.5 is not good enough.

Here is the standards from APHRA even if you obtain a TAFE diploma you still must score 7 across the board in all bands if you did not complete your secondary and nursing education in Australia (or UK, NZ, Canada, USA)

I am registered nurse of Nepal. I have completed my proficiency certificate level(PCL) from Nepal that is equivalent to year 12. But during the counselling today one of the staff has said that Australia no longer recognize PCL .. So she has suggest me to take tertiary program and unless and until we donot complete our tertiary program, we would be unable to join the bachelor of nursing . Can you please suggest me what type of program is this tertiary program.

many thanks

What counseling staff? Review the requirements for Australian nursing licensure on the a APHRA website. If you need further training APHRA will advise. You will be rejected if your IELTS isn't high enough.

dear JustBeachyNurse,

Thank you so much for your information. Currently i am Nepal and i am planning to apply for Australia,Sydney. So Nowadays i am taking counselling for my ease. What i want to ask is "what is the requirement to enroll in bachelor of nursing from Nepal who has completed (Proficiency Certificate Level) PCL level in nursing." Can we directly enrolled in bachelor if we get the IELTS score 7 or do we have to take tertiary preparation program (TPP) which is one year course before the bachelor.

many thanks

Your going to have to ask the university that. Most of them have english courses for a year then go on to the Bachelor, though do not think because you obtain a Nursing degree in Ausralia it will give you better english skills and registration with AHPRA. You will still need to do the OET or IELTS in one sitting getting the golden 7 in all subtests to register as a nurse with AHPRA. Not sure but I think all nursing courses require the 7 in IELTS as well due to many OS students not being able to register because they could not pass the english test.

Dear ceridwyn ,thank you so much for the information. Can you Please make me clear about Tertiary preparation program (TPP) in Health science. At what condition do we have to enroll in Tertiary preparation program before get enrolled in Bachelor of nursing.I would be very greatful.many thanksregards
