Got spewed with charcoal last night. (So did the walls and ceiling) :chuckle

All over my brand spankin new scrub top.

Anybody got any tips on how to get charcoal (or other stains for that matter) out of my clothes. I did the whole Spray N Wash ritual, but it didn't work. You'd think I'd learn by now to wear those yellow gowns, but it was so gosh darn hot last night...

I can get almost anything out using Clorox 2 (the color safe stuff) and warm water.

Did you dry it yet?

The best way to get it out is wad up the top, throw it in the trash and buy a new one. Charcoal is impossible to get out. Would recommend the cover gown next time or black or dark navy scrubs- they hide it.

If you don't mind spending the money, you could try that new Tide Buzz thing. I bought it and it even got most on my ink stains out. It got stains out of things I've had for years. It doesn't guarantee anything, but so far, I've found it to work very well. Consumer Reports and Good Housekeepinglike it too.

Zout...I swear by it, but never had to use it on charcoal!

I Have Used A Combination Of Regular Bleach And Color=safe Bleach And Let Them Soak For A While....worth A Stab...so Sorry Caught A Load Of Charcoal

Best Wishes

I used the Clorox 2 and it removed a little more. Hmmm, about this Tide buzz thing. It removes ink too?!?!?! I have a couple with some ink spots..... Heck, I just need to wear black! :p

I think charcoal is impossible too, but sometimes you're in too much of a hurry to put on those darned gowns.

Other stain removal (forgive me if you're familiar with these)

Hydrogen peroxide for dried blood -- even gets out dried blood.

Dawn for grease stains -- best if fresh stains, dab on, let sit for a 1/2 hour to an hour, then wash hot. Don't put it in the dryer, let air dry so you can see if the stain has come out or not. Repeat if you're not satisfied with the results.

This even works on 100% cotton if the stain is fresh. I've only seen it fail on a Carmex explosion in the dryer :o
