I Wish I'd Said That!

Published

Do you ever think to yourself, after a verbal exchange, something that would have been a great comeback, except now it's 2 days after the fact? This happens to me all the time!

A bully nurse spread rumours and lies about me. When we had a meeting with the supervisor, she put on this 'sweet' act but said that other people knew 'for weeks' that I 'didn't do my work'. She said that she thought I was 'lovely and wonderful' but not a good nurse.

I was so dumbfounded I just stared at her. How can I get to think quicker on my feet?

I feel just like you. Sometimetimes, I remember what I should say for next time. If it happens again, I will have it ready.

Some good advice here! Thanks!

I had someone who used to always make nasty remarks to me -implying that because she had kids and I didn't, she worked so much harder than I did. Once she told me it was OK for me to stay late because I "had nothing to do at home" and so forth. Finally, I had it. The next time she said something, I looked her straight in the eye and said " We all make choices in our life, I'm sorry that you are so unhappy with yours" and walked away. Made my day!
